Starting Point: Jonkershoek MTO Trails
Our Mountain biking route starts from the Jonkershoek MTO Trails main gate and takes up the famous Irish trail. This gradual climb eventually leads you up to Contour 5 jeep track. Catch your breath, have some water and enjoy the incredible scenery.
Flowing Descents and Valley Views
This is followed by a short and rocky ascent, after which you transition onto the oldest trail in the network. Neverending Story a flowing scenic descent that will grace you with spectacular valley views. From this point, you’ll continue through the Valley single trails making your way across the bridge.
Climb and Traverse Toward the Quarry
You then climb onto easy single track all the way up to the valley traverse heading toward the Quarry. Afterward, you’ll enjoy an exhilarating descent that gradually brings you back to the main entry gate of Jonkershoek Nature Valley, for a well-deserved lunch break.Â
Final Stretch: G-Spot Trail to Stellenbosch
Our last highlight of the day will take us for a liaison ride along the back road of the Jonkershoek valley toward Stellenbosch and renowned G-Spot Mountain bike trail. Had ample time for shopping and lunch. A wonderful stop @ Boulders Beach to visit penguins and a love at first site to see Simons Town. Was sad to leave at the end of the day. Any tour would be great but I’d say full days are the greatest. Going back to Cape Town I’d book everyday with him. Thank you Patrick for being amazing keep on being you as you are simply the best.

I had the pleasure to (try) the “Mini” peninsula all day tour. Patrick met me at the lower table car station at Table Mountain to start the tour. I was… read more his only guest, so we had lot’s of time to chat. Being in CT for 30 years and doing mtb for more than 15, Patrick definitely knows the ins and outs and is a very good guide.
The views and impressions, but also the inside informations on the tour were very special and even though I had to realise I would not make it back to the cable car station (I was around 250 / 1500 altitude meters short…), I still loved every meter I rode.
Patrick was kind enough to go on on his self to get his car, after which he fetched me and brought me to my car.
In a nutshell: Patrick is a very nice and fit guy you enjoy being around with that knows the Cape very well. I can recommend booking him–should I be travelling to CT again, I will do so myself!
