Our 25km mountain biking Table Mountain to Groot Constantia ride is an exhilarating and scenic adventure. Designed for novice mountain bikers, it has no technical challenges. Playground par excellence Table Mountain staged the Cape Epic prologue many times over.

The first part of the ride takes us in short but exciting mixed track condition. Starting at Table Mountain lower cable car station, the tared road soon becomes dirt, descending towards Cape Town university. The first 15km is short but exciting all along the face of the mountain. A couple of steep loose descents will test your bravery and skill in equal measure. Riding above Rhodes Memorial, through Groote Schuur Estate and along Newlands Forest. Before heading into the cool shady Cecilia plantation and suburban trail of the Constantia greenbelt. The trails along the greenbelt offer a little bit of everything, from the odd dip-covered forest to the smooth manicured trail.

Reaching late morning Groot Constantia wine estate. One of the oldest and most prestigious wine estates in South Africa, dating back to the 1600s. After an exhilarating mountain biking outing, you can unwind and indulge in wine, food and coffee to enjoy an afternoon at leisure.
